echo had always been known as a hyper kid. she herself knew she was a hyper kid. she always had something to say about everything, and she was always bouncing around with endless energy. that's just how she was. some would even say she was childish, but she didn't care. she knew it was pretty true, actually. she couldn't help it, it was just how she was. that day she was in school, like she was five days a week. no one really liked school, but echo didn't hate it like some kids did.
if she was completely honest, she didn't even think it was all that bad. as the bell rang for the passing period, echo headed down to the cafeteria. everyone loved lunch, the time of day when you could relax and hang out with your friends and not worry about teachers and homework. stepping into the cafeteria, echo noticed a girl sitting at one of the tables. skipping over, she sat down across from her, offering a smile. "hi! i'm echo. is it okay if i sit here?" she said quickly.

zelda was having a shitty day. she was doing really good in her classes but the students were complete assholes to her. she was younger then a lot of the students; she had just turned thirteen. watching a happy looking girl come over to her table, the dark haired girl looked up, expecting some sort of insult, zelda waited. hearing the girls question, she was caught off guard, and instantly nervous. "oh..h-hi. i'm zelda." she said, not registering that the girl just wanted to sit for second or two "Go ahead..". Zelda was probably coming off as rude but it was a bit obvious that the small girl was really nervous.
Zelda was always like this;babbly, nervous, shaky and smart. Very, very smart. When Zelda was younger, and quite her parents didn't think much about it. They thought it was just a "phase" she would go through. No, it stuck. Zelda had been smart since she was young, learning to do things faster and some of it by herself at a very young age.

echo could hardly ever make herself sit still, it seemed like she was constantly moving or talking. especially during the school day when she had to sit still for however many minutes straight. so during lunch time she was always even happier. she could talk all she wanted with no worries about being reprimanded for it. echo realized this girl seemed kind of nervous though, and tried to calm down a little. she didn't want to scare her or anything. "thanks." she said with another smile. she hadn't really seen the girl around much, but she knew of her a little. mostly just about how smart she was.
echo herself wasn't dumb, but she wasn't any genius either. she managed to pass all of her classes pretty easily, even doing above average in a few, but she certainly wasn't smart enough to skip multiple grades. running a hand through her hair quickly, echo looked back over at the girl. "so, how's your day going so far?" she asked her, figuring it'd be nice to have some conversation. plus, the girl seemed nice enough. shy, nervous sure. but definitely not mean. so she didn't see any reason not to talk to her.
